Question user roaming profile

Hi all,

I had created a folder called profiles in c:\documents a& settings and given share permissions for authenticated users(full control) and security permissions (users, administrators, system and everyone-full cont)

i have an issue now. I am not able to load the user roaming profile. we have migrated the users and systems from the linux server to the windows domain using ADMT.I had set the profile path as "\\server\profiles\%username%" and local path is "logon.cmd".

whenever i login iam getting only local profile. its showing as some security issues and network problems. but i don't face anything like that......i need to login with the new domain with roaming profile...kindly suggest

The thing is, the folder might not be shared. These people might have permissions but the folder itself is not setup to be shared on the network.

First, read this article - How to Create and Copy Roaming User Profiles in Windows XP - Check the update the user profile path section and read the enitre thing to make sure you did it properly. This may be an issue if you didnt, but ADMT should have done it correctly(I don't know about LINUX though as i'm not a linux geek myself).

Second, are you sure you connected the computer to the domain? Make sure you are logging on to the domain as well - minor issue but that seems to be a problem frequently.

Other than that, if you're connecting to the domain AND logging on to it and the network users are not able to logon, then it is probably a problem in the migration.

Try these things, and get back to me. We'll fix the network users problem first and the shared documents second.

Good luck, i'll be here if you have anymore problems.

Question

The profile has been shared.iam able to login with the user.i dont think its a network issue.
I suspect with the security and sharing permissions of the profile folder....

in each website the permissions are different. Pls let me know the correct permssions(ntfs, share) and whether to inherit the permissions or not?....

herewith iam attaching the screen shot of the settings. pls let me know on how to sort out the issue
