Default Cannot type in password in login prompt!! help

Hi

I have a domain controller which is in a locked state (CTRL+ALT+DEL) It is still live and working properly however I could not type in the password. I replaced the keyboard but same problem I could not get in! The mouse is working OK...

Forcing a shutdown is not an option as it is a 24/7 live server!! can someone suggest something? is there some sort of remote method I could use? also RDP is not enabled so I am screwed...

Thanks a million

Hmm

You can try numlock, other than that you can try logging in remotely from another PC that is on the networking(using computer manage) and see if the computer is recognizing the keyboard. You might not have used a plug in play keyboard.

Other than that I can't really help you too well unless I'm there. Good luck

Oh, by the way, you would right click my computer, click manage, right click computer management(local) and click connect to another computer. It may work this way however if RDP connections are disabled you might be screwed and locked out. You could try a keyboard you KNOW for a fact is PnP.

PS:This is why barely any servers have a 100% uptime. The need does arise sometimes, trust me.
