I have to admit that Windows NT server was definitely one of the better products to come out of Microsoft. As NOSs go, the application was very stable and relatively easy to use. I think that the ease of use of present NOSs came out of the experiences with NT.

I think its one of the first times people were not full on worried of something being flakey. I know a couple people still mention it sometimes but not too often though when it is, its always good notes unlike some others M$ has had issues out the eyeballs with it.

Windows NT is great for what it does, and it it's pretty good for office environments and things of that like.
For purely home use, I still think you would probably be better off with Windows XP Home or Professional, depending on what your needs are like. Windows NT is indeed high quality though. |

I agree Mick. If you are using a network in a home environment I think XP is the way to go but for a larger network with the need for additional security then I agree that NT was one of the better things Microsoft has tossed at us.

I never got the opportunity to use it. It seems like it wasn't around very long which tells me that it must have been good or they wouldn't have gotten rid of it so quickly! Just like them to get rid of something that works!
