Default Will 7 put Linux out of business?

There is a lot of speculation that when 7 is officially released that it will easily replace Linux in it's realm of netbooks and laptops - assuming it lives up to what is being said about it. I have never used Linux so can't compare - what do you think?

No way, no how. Linux is an entirely different beast than any windows product. Its more secure, its adaptable, its stable, powerful. And more often than not, its FREE.

Until windows is free, it will never replace linux.

I am not really sure how you would put something out of business that does not make any money. There are sites that take donations but that is about all, its not required to run linux.

Linux got its own "niche" market and trust me people who use linux much more dedicated compared to windows users. I don't think they can switch to windows platform after using Linux.

No, I do not think Windows 7 will do very much with the Netbook market. I think that the Chrome OS will do some big things to the Netbook market.

This post sums it up VERY well.

Linux is free, windows isn't, that's also a contributor but I don't think the main factor.

Besides all of that, I still believe windows is a better OS, and i'm MUCH more accustomed and knowledgable of it.
