Default Online gaming

Has anyone had any problems with online games that are supposed to be compatable with vista but aren't? There was one, magiknights- that worked once or twice and then just stopped altogether. It's very aggravating.

There have been a number of games that I had wanted to play on Windows Vista, but they proved to be incompatible.

And yes, that includes a number of games which claimed to be compatible with Windows Vista.

While this will definitely be improved later on, how many people have the patience to wait for it?

Ah-ha! Another good reason not to upgrade my machine: I won't be able to play my old games.

Unless the problem is only online games, then it's not an issue.

No, the problem also effects offline games as well.

Like I already said though, i'm sure the problem will be fixed later.

The problem is the waiting, especially since we have no idea how long we'll be waiting for!

Just stick with Windows XP until Vista can get it's acted cleaned up, and the next Windows may nearly be out by that point!

Default I don't do many games

When I put Diablo in, I had to run it as on XP otherwise the graphics were strange and it kept stopping. Other than that, my machine only has a couple of Hoyle game cds and SuperCollapse and those didn't have any problems.

The only computer I have with windows xp on it is really just a piece of junk, lol. When we got out new computer in Feb. we would have loved to have gotten it with winxp but vista was the only option at the time.

I have played WOW and Counter Strike on both XP and Vista though it seems with Vistia you need a fast machine otherwise its on the laggy side. Did you have a quick box when you were playing?

Wait, do you mean Diablo 1 or 2? I heard through some friends of mine that Diablo 2 was supposed to be working fairly well on Windows Vista. There would definitely be some problems running Diablo 1 though, since it's a very old game now.

Well that answers my question. Thanks guys. I won't be upgrading my computer or my system. I like the software and the games I currently have, so there's no reason for me to spend money on an upgrade.
