I have had virus/malware issues all week, and am extremely frustrated! I paid someone $180 to repair/clean the virus off my pc. It was returned still unable to update Windows and with nearly the same problems it had before.

Here's my current issue. I cannot find my original Windows CD that came with the computer we bought from Best Buy about 3-4 years ago (HP Pavilion). So earlier today a friend gave me instructions and a Windows CD to try to repair my system. Since I've already paid $180 for someone to repair it, and they didn't, I want to try to do this myself.

I am currently running the Windows CD disk he gave me -- running repair -- and now it asks me for a Product Key. It's 1:30am EST and I don't know what to do.

Can I turn the computer off when it is asking for a Product Key so I can deal with it tomorrow? I have a legitimate copy of Windows....just don't know where it is!

Please help....!
