Default Calling them

When you have an issue that means you have tried everything else possible, and you end up having to call Microsoft are there any tips to get exactly your question answers and nothing more. I have called a couple of times but when I do they seem to want to keep you on the phone forever and try to up sell sometimes for techs support.

Tell them you're on your cell phone and the battery is dying. Other than that there's not much you can do, any telephone support makes money on such things and they are paid to at least try to sell them to you.

I have never tried to call Microsoft and I don't plan on it any time soon. I have never heard a good story about a tech support call to Microsoft. I think that I would rather shoot myself in the foot, then put myself through that.

I've only called Microsoft once and they were very helpful to me. When my Dell kicked the bucket, I found out after the fact that my registration key to my OS was on the case that I had gotten rid of. Dell wouldn't give me a new key and told me to call Microsoft. I called Microsoft who tried to three-way with Dell to tell them to give me a key but Dell was horrible. The guy at Microsoft was appalled at their attitude and he gave me a registration key to get my OS working right again.
