What do I need to network?

I'm getting two more computers set up in the house this year and would like to network them but don't have a clue. When you network with a dial-up connection, can multiple computers still share the connection at the same time? What equipment do I need to network them?

I have one with a wireless antenna (this one I am on now) and my other in the same room but further away has a wireless card. I really got tired of running cable each time I moved my desk around.
