My husband is going over to the dark side when he gets his new work computer next month. I'm wondering if we will still be able to network, me on XP and him on a mac? Even just for file sharing?

I have seen it done a large scale, a unversity department with many computers networked, some macs and some windows. But I haven't a clue how it was done. I'm like Tanner in that I just know it CAN be done. So at least you know there is something to look into. Wish we could help you more on that area!

Thanks, I'll check out the model of our router, and perhaps look into getting a new one.
*just checked, we don't actually have a router, so far as I can tell, it's just a modem with several ports, does that sound right? |

If you don't have a router then I am not sure you can network. A modem isn't set up to function as a networking hub as far as I know.
But routers aren't too expensive, and Linksys are really very good. |
