My wife recently got a new computer and of course it came with VISTA. I installed her copy of MS Office XP on it and ever since then her Outlook won't send email out or receive in a reliable way. No matter how many times I change or reconfigure the mail it won't work consistently. It may work to send/receive one or two out but then after that it doesn't.
I really don't want to buy another version of Office and I'm afraid I may have to download Outlook Express Any help would be appreciated! George |

I can't say as I blame you for not wanting to buy another copy of Office. That thing is expensive! Have you tried the Microsoft tech support? They may have something on it and may be able to help you.
If it were me I'd get the latest version of Outlook Express and just don't use the XP version. Sorry I can't be of more help. Chris |

I would think this would be caused by some sort of compatibility problem, but you should try asking Windows tech support to be sure.
How old is your version of Microsoft Office anyway? If the thing is 5 or more years old, the Microsoft people would probably just tell you to upgrade...which costs a lot of money of course
