Mozilla Thunderbird

I have been using Mozilla's Thunderbird as my primary mail client for a number of years now, and I was just wonder who else uses it as their primary client, and what they like about it. Thunderbird has just always been really easy to use and more straight forward than some of the other mail clients I have used, including even Outlook in some ways. Anyone else a Thunderbird user?

I haven't used it, I've been using Incredimail, but I'm not real happy with that. Is Thunderbird a pop3? I'm assuming it is.. and that it's freeware? I'll have to check in to it.
