Default How to go wireless?

I have cable internet on the main computer. I'd like to pick up a couple computers for the kids rooms. What do I need to hook the three up to a network so that all can be online?

There are 2 ways that I can think of - you could connect a wireless access point to your internet router and then enable the kids' computers to access the wireless signal. That can be done via USB wireless sticks or wireless cards. The other way to go is to run network cables from the internet routerto each computer.

I had wireless on my laptop and I always lost the signal. I don't know if it was because of the wireless card I was using but I didn't like it. I would be right in the middle of something and the signal would drop. It was very frustrating so now I am plugged right into the main modem.

Are you set on buying desktops for the kids? I haven't had the bad experiences others here said they had with wireless cards, but if others have had problems I'd hate to recommend it and have you experience the same. There are some pretty cheap laptops out there these days, and all are generally enabled to access wireless routers. Buy a wireless router and add them to the network and you're good to go!

Wireless is the way to go these days, now that the price has dropped and the security has raised. I love using wireless networks, they are so easy and no cables!
