I have been using many different messaging programs over the years, but AIM and Yahoo have always been the 2 big ones for me...until fairly recently.
MSN seems to have rather quietly built up it's popularity in recent years, with many people using MSN over both Yahoo or AIM. While i'm not sure if I would call MSN my favorite or not, I would say it's an excellent and very well made messenger program. How do the rest of you feel? |

On the few times that I do chat I prefer MSN over the others. I like the idea that you can more easily block or appear off-line to specific users. I normally log on to chat just to take to one person in particular and hate to be bombarded by others trying to talk.

It's the only one I use currently, I never used AIM (AO-hell hater
), and just went with MSN over yahoo for some reason. I wasn't doing IMing for sometime, probably 6 years-ish, but a friend convinced me to get back on.

So good to see that I am far from the only one here who likes MSN!
The program seems to be fairly feature rich, while still not going entirely overboard. Also MSN is pretty secure, runs well, and and it's very easy to use for almost anyone. Say what you will about some of MS's other products, but they know how to make a great messenger. |

It works, isnt that all that matters? I know it sounds silly, but I still use all three mentioned (not ICQ anymore since I lost the password many years ago when I still had a 4 or 5 digit #). I have some family and friends that use each of the three, so Im kind of forced to use it if I want to be in contact with those far away.

MSN keeps things just as sophisticated as they need to be, while not going too overboard either. Lately I am using MSN a lot more than Yahoo, and about even with AIM. While I don't even messengers much anymore period, MSN offers just about anything I would expect or want.

While I am not sure if I would call MSN THE BEST thing that Microsoft has ever done, I could definitely say that it's one of them! With MSN, they have created what is arguably the best messenger program currently on the market. For all their shortcomings elsewhere, Microsoft really knew what they were doing when it came to MSN.

I prefer MSN over any other chat software that I use. I really like the features and have always had problems with AIM and Yahoo in they tend to lock up my system for no reason. I still use Yahoo because of family but otherwise I'm on MSN.
