Still digging about, found that one of my old favorites has been killed for a couple years by big business buyout.
Found one called meebo that doesn't actually require a download. You can go right to meebo - online web IM for AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google Talk messengers and sign in to the various chat messengers and chat right from their site. There is also a Firefox extension that docks it into the browser. I haven't had the chance to play around yet, but it sounds interesting if its compatible with FF3. Anyone try meebo out?

I always wonder if these multi IM clients allow for multi IM client multi usernames at the same time, along with fidgets question about voice and video (for the same reasons too). I have a VOIP line for calls, but video would be nice and many dont do well with it (multi IM's).

I think I have heard OF Meebo before, but I have never actually tried it before. Maybe this warrants some investigation if I do say so myself.
Since you say it doesn't require a download, how exactly does it run? Through a Java applet or something else? I dislike Java personally, and I think that's what AIM express was using. |

Does that mean that once it's docked in Firefox that I'd be able to instant message anyone using the covered services without having to put all of them into my machine? I have friends on yahoo, msn, aim - I don't want to put them all into my computer and deal with juggling them all.

I would use Meebo, if somebody could tell me if it uses Java or not. After looking around their website a while, I could not find anything which mentioned how the program worked and if it was flash based, Java based, or something else altogether. Once I have an answer, I will try it out...assuming it isn't Java based.
